- Silicone heat cable is mainly used for glass terrariums and rack system. To avoid any contact between animals and the cable, it should be put outside of the terrarium. In order to create a hot spot, the warm area should cover up to 1/3 of the surface. You must not cut, modify, immerse or overlay the cable. It is highly recommended to use a thermostat to regulate the temperature and to leave minimum 3 cm gap between each row of the heat cable. The whole length of the heat cable includes 1.8m non-heating part starting at the plug.
